here’s me with one pupil bigger than the other this afternoon after a trip to the opticians for investigate a floater. it turned out to be just a floater, but you have to get them checked out quickly apparently as they can sometime be a detached retina and if it they need to act quickly so sort it out.  so go, if you get one.  mine was ok (it’s a wispy floater which is still a bit attached, so i’ve got to wait for it to drop off), and there was no charge from specsavers despite me spending over an hour there throughout the day so that was excellent.

this morning i stuffed up my journey to work by realising whilst i was on the bus that i’d left my phone on the front windscreen of my car in the bus station car park.  luckily i realised before we got to the harbour bridge, so i go off and walked across to the other station to get a bus back ( i was more worried about someone breaking in to the car than having a day without the phone). 

i waited 10 minutes for a bus to come which said it was going to the station.  but unfortunately it was one which went on a guided tour of the North Shore first so it took me ages.  So i finally ended up getting a bus back to work an hour later than when i first started!

meanwhile the girls did some coffee with friends, jane’s friend Alex came round, the girls watched Mary Poppins and jane did some dog training.

then this evening we played some cluedo.  jane won twice.  it’s her favourite game.

Think it’s up to me to write the blog today. I wore my new running shoes in the dark this morning and they are very bright!

I had church office job today but now that the girls are big, they went to a pottery painting place nearby and I left them there. It was a win win (I did go back later to collect them). This avo we did not much – craft, cooking, playing with Pearl.

We recreated Kezia’s posh fish from last week. It was yum. This eve I went to a friend’s to synchronise our dance moves for leading Mainly Music next term and Dave and the girls watched a DVD.

This morning Kezia skyped her friend Hannah and Esther’s friend Beth popped round to see Pearl.

This afternoon Kezia went to a friend’s music party. Most of the guests did a musical turn – Kezia played the violin. Meanwhile Esther and I went to the opticians and then spent loads of money on various presents and sporting items.

Dave kindly fitted some window things so that we can open the window to the room where Pearl is shut in but a burglar can’t squeeze through. Yay, thank you, dave.

i was on sound again today so was at church for 7am, then the podcast making so church stuff didn’t really finish until 2pm.

this afternoon we went to the DIY shop then had a walk at takapuna beach

kezia and i are doing a photo course next sunday so we got my old SLR camera out for kezia to experiment with.  she did really well.  these are her photos:

i went to TEDx today in Auckland  where, along with 2075 people i heard nearly 20 inspirational speakers.  that was good.  though a bit exhausting

jane and the girls did various housey things including some shopping.  and esther has gone to a sleep over.

this evening jane’s gone out to the cinema with debbie and i’m at home with kezia and pearl.

hello.  a project i’ve been leading since March came to an end today when the Commerce Commission published its final decision.  And the decision came out exactly as we want it to, so that was really excellent.  high fives all round.

other than that it was a good day with a team trip to the food court.

jane and the girls had a day at home doing dog things i think.  and this evening kez and i went to her swimming and jane went to the gym whilst esther did her swimming

and this evening we had some family telly

i met my friend phil for breakfast, had a busy day with plenty of meetings, then this evening kezia had swimming so warren and i went to a local hotel bar whilst we were waiting.  i had a mocktail.

pearl the dog went for a short ride in the car today and both the girls had friends over.

this evening jane and esther have gone with debbie and laura to see NZ’s got talent being recorded.  exciting!

i was back in the office today after three days working from home for various reasons.  it was such a busy day with meetings etc that i didn’t actually spend much time at my desk

pearl did some more sleeping and less wees in the house (this photo is from yesterday i think). And kezia had a friend over.  this evening esther cooked tea (see earlier post)

Guess who? Dave has been working from home today, so not much scope for new pictures. Today, I was planning on doing a short church office day, which somehow turned quite long, but it was ok as the girls were enjoying watching Maisy mouse programmes on you tube.

This evening Kezia cooked the dinner. It was posh fish and chips and wonky jelly. Also homemade lemonade.

Pearl has regressed in the going outside to do what she has to do department, but has settled down very quickly in bed tonight.
