saturday
jane was up early to get kezia to her 5.30am swimming
then she spent the much of the rest of the day at school supervising backstage at the school play
esther spent the day doing a duke of edinburgh award training day
kezia did her homework and then fiddled around on her ipad for the rest of the day
i prepared some photos for this week’s assessment and then spent the afternoon filling in our citizenship application forms to work out what is involved.
Our internet provider (who is also my employer) is still having troubles and facebook is full of complaints which is a shame!

friday
work and school for all
swimming for kezia
everyone in the house now has a working phone and everything was looking good until our internet connection stopped working
we found out later it was an ISP wide issue, but not until i’d spent ages turning various things on and off trying to get things working

Work and school and swimming and unsolved Internet problems.
What a week for technology challenges

thursday
busy/hard days at work and school for all
my car had a flat battery this evening in the bus station car park
esther did some homework in the back seat while we waited for the aa man to arrive
we got home then an hour later the AA mobile battery replacement came and installed us a new battery – a bit more expensive than going to a garage i suspect but worth it for the convenience
then when he’d been, esther and i went over to the mall to mend kezia’s phone and buy a new phone for esther which is her birthday present.
jane took kezia to her swimming competition.
and it’s been really chucking it down with rain all evening. but the ceiling is dry. so that’s good.

wednesday
work for me. various musical things for esther. violin for kezia
i gave my 2 presentations at the photo club this evening. was a total of over 300 slides and an hour speaking. went ok i think.
jane has been doing millions of school work
and that’s the drummer from Queen in the picture. on Queen Street. They are playing in Auckland today and tomorrow night.

tuesday
i had to go back to The Warehouse after i updated the family blog yesterday to return jane’s phone. The spent half an hour prodding it to see if they could make it work, then spent ages trying to set up the new one on their very slow wifi before i told them i’d just take it and do it myself. i was so tired of standing up i went to a different part of the store and grabbed a deck chair to sit on in the mobile phone area. anyway, jane has a nice working phone (or would have it working if i’d phoned up the help desk 2 minutes earlier as it shut at 9pm.
we also discovered a leak in the roof yesterday which was dripping through the lounge ceiling on to the sofa. the whole ceiling is wet.
luckily our amazing builder friend john was available today so he came over and i think we found the problem (a crack in a teeny flat bit of the roof which was revealed by two broken tiles). we even had two replacement tiles behind our shed which we could use so that was good.
i worked from home today (handy for John coming) and saw these white balloons go by. probably from a funeral i think
jane had school busyness, esther had violin and a school thing talking about exams to parents. kezia had swimming
and it was nice and warm today which was great for fixing the roof. when john was here i was wandering around outside in bare feet. yesterday was 5 cm of rain, windy and below 12 degrees.
