the hour changed last night, which meant an extra early start for me as i ended up on sound duty at church
jane is still sick with her cold/flu and spent the day at home
esther and i went to a Malaysian festival which was a bit disappointing so then we went over to an Italian festival instead which was much better
and was good for photoing
jane has a stinky cold today so missed out on janine’s 40th birthday which was a masquerade party. and it was great
the girls were waitresses and i did some photoing
kezia had a party this afternoon so the rest of us went to the cinema to watch this film which you really must go and see. it’s a documentary about a bunch of old people in a dance troupe and it’s lovely and funny.
i had a manic day at work. i managed to pop out for some air at lunchtime and saw these three guys dressed identically.
esther got 100% in yet another test (this time maths). jane had various school things
there was a queue of emoticons outside the Spark shop, each representing a person who was in the queue to get their new iphone.
kezia had swimming this evening and jane and pearl went for a walk. then there’s been telly watching for all
i got to hang one of my pictures in the cafe at my office which was exciting. it’s looks quite small there on the wall!
everyone had school. kezia had swimming during which jane and esther did late night shopping.
i met up with buzz at lunchtime and the rest of my day was really busy writing documents.
i walked past this church on the way back from meeting buzz and the bells were being peeled (?) for a wedding out front. the tramps had been temporary located round to the side out of the way. it could have been england for a brief moment.
kezia got Honours with the picture above at photo club this evening. i only got highly commended with my bridge picture below!
esther got excellent in two more of her exams, including getting 100% in her geography mock exam. she was the only person to get 100%. what a swot.
kezia had violin.
the flyers for the photographic society 60th anniversary exhibition have been published and feature one of my images, which is very nice
and this evening i’ve also framed one of my pictures which is going to hang up in the cafe at work (if they’ve got a nail strong enough)
jane had a dentist appointment today. girls had school
esther got another excellent in her mock exams – this time biology
i had a long day at work followed by attending a lecture for lawyers on unfair contract terms which was exciting as it sounds
kezia had swimming. esther had violin
it was 6 degrees C this morning. but nice and sunny for a change. it went back to clouds by the end of the morning though
more bridge photos this evening. this time with Mike at Birkenhead Wharf where we had our own security guard! (i thought he was going to ask us to move on, but he turned out to be wanting to have a chat!)

another showery day which went from freezing sideways rain to sunny within minutes throughout the day
church this morning
then after uploading the church podcast we went for lunch
then we had a walk down the watefront
esther came back at 4pm from her overnighter
sounds like they had a cold night in the tent, but it was fun
there was a supermarket by the campsite which meant they could have ice cream for tea so it wasn’t quite the wilderness i was expecting
and the cycling was very successful. she fell off once but nothing dramatic
here’s a fishing boat which struggled to find a parking space so they had to nudge all the other fishing boats up.
kezia had a swimming competition which lasted all morning, then from 3-7.30 this afternoon.
jane went with kezia for the morning session so i took jane’s car to get a nail removed a tyre (luckily it was a short nail and nothing needed doing)
we also had a lady round to value our house because a) they were offering to do it for a free and b) because the council are soon to send round ratings revaluations so it’s good to have an independent view
this afternoon i went with kezia to her swimming
she got three PBs today and managed to qualify for the auckland champs so she’ll be in training for them
this evening jane and kezia went to a fashion/colours things at the church hub
and i drove backwards and forwards over the auckland harbour bridge taking long exposure pictures in the rain to add to my set of images of the bridge
jane and i voted at lunchtime which was nice. the results are pretty much in already
esther meanwhile is braving the weekend’s wild weather by sleeping in a tent tonight, as part of a two day cycling duke of edinburgh trip
the campsite was lovely according to a text received from esther.
