We were up late due to a suspected hen party partying all night in an adjacent room.

When we did get up we paid a quick visit to the mall then went to the botanical gardens with my old university chum Sam.

There were orchids and wild turtles etc. I then visited some guitar shops with Sam for old times sake.

This evening has been packing (brilliantly performed by jane) and then we had our last supper together at the Hard Rock Cafe next to our hotel

Photos are quite out of order today.

Back to the zoo to do the water safari which included the pandas (!)

Then a quick bit of shopping for the girls still they had something push to wear for the high tea at Raffles Hotel late afternoon.

After that there was some more shopping including me going to a tech mall,  then back on the tube back to the hotel.

This evening jane and kezia went to the hotel gym to avoid getting fubsy.

    image

We spent the day and evening at the zoo

    image

There was thunder cracking all around us for most of the afternoon but the rain didn’t drop on us until after the zoo closed for the  afternoon.

    image

Unfortunately that made the evening after dark zoo trip a bit soggy.  But the long queue to get on to the little buggies for the 45 minute tour was under cover so that was ok

Usual story of pictures being in the order and me being too tired to edit them down!

    image

Morning started with breakfast in a local cafe top avoid the high hotel charges.  Jane had the best cup of tea she’d treated in her entire life!

    image

This morning we went on a free coach type of singapore

    image

And afterwards had lunch on a cheap street food market.

    image

We then walked over a fancy bridge when s monsoon rain storm came by and drenched us. So we spent the next hour in a shopping mall.

    image

The mall was so big and fancy it had its own boating lake/canal!

    image

Then we went up that big sky scraper thing with what looks like a giant boat balancing on top.   We had a coffee up there and asked the view

    image

Them we headed back down and went to the gardens by the bay next door with their fancy super trees which are actually chimneys for the bio power plant which powers the building we’d just been in.

    image

Along the way we walked across the formula one track

    image

    image

    image

Them this evening at meet up with my university friend Sam who is doing Six month secondment in Singapore. The restaurant was in yet another mall so the girls did shopping one the eating s over while Sam and I did chatting.

    image

We came back in the dark and some familiar sites looked different lit up.  Some looked very different but that was only because wed walked the wrong way at one point.  Oops.

Photos are out of order as usual. Th is is a dragon fruit.

    image

So everything happened nicely out the flight and we got through security and customs fine and got to our hotel nearly four hours early but they had a room available for us so that was all good

Jane and kezia then fell asleep while esther and I went off exploring the hotel environs which is on the  edge of the main shopping street.   We bought some underground passes and picked up a ton of leaflets from the tourist info place.

Later we got a taxi over to sentosa island to see all the activities which are over there in anticipation of a return later in the week.

After we popped by a hypermarket.

Esther fell in to a deep sleep on the way back to the hotel which was quite amusing.  She had been up for 36hours though!

    image

This is the view looking back at the beach on sentosa island.   The view from the beach isn’t quite as nice.   Unless you love ships and industry like I do.

We got ther  on the monorail
