kezia had her first day at Westlake girls today while esther had the day off.   i took kezia there first thing in the morning, but it turns out a nearly 13 year old isn’t that fussed about waiting around with her father so i was dismissed to go to work soon after we arrived there, rather than waiting the 30 minutes until school properly started.

i had a good day at work and confused myself by getting the bus back to the bus station only to realise i’d left my car at home.  i managed to get home eventually using a combination of a different bus and my lovely wife.

and also today our homestay arrived.  we’ve had to stop calling her ‘homey’ as she has a real name.  this evening kezia and i took her over to the mall to get a bus pass and new SIM card.

esther had her first day back at school, which started with a band practice and ended with a choir practice.  in between she got her time table etc and then had the afternoon free to wander about with her chums.  she walked in to takapuna and then went to the beach!

meanwhile kezia had a day with her friend and baked some cookies.

jane had school and i had work.  i met up with an old work chum Simon for lunch with was nice.

i was going to have tomorrow off work to meet our new homestay, but she’s not coming until the end of the day now so i’ll go to work after all.

and i also had to edit a picture of our CEO’s wife.  so, no pressure there.

back to work for jane today, although no kids until next week.

kezia spent a day out and about which included a trip to the cinema

esther had her first new orchestra rehearsal which she said was really hard as the music was tricky.  she sounded positive about it though

i had work and met up with Buzz for lunch which was good.

i walked past the festival site on the way to work and demolition was well under way, with a few odd things left behind

today was a public holiday.  auckland’s anniversary day.  and we’re 175 years old.  so that’s exciting.

i went to a music festival which was very hot and very busy.  it was excellent though.

jane and the girls had fun with friends and friends then came back and used our pool which is so warm at the moment it’s like a bath!

i was on sound at church this morning and nearly ended up playing bass at the same time, with kezia managing the desk, but i found someone in the congregation to play instead just before the service began!

this afternoon we’ve just been fiddling about

then this evening we went in to town for a wander and caught some busker festival people

and then we sat on some steps and watched the fireworks.  before realising we were facing the wrong way so stood up !

various chores, a family trip to the cinema to see Paddington and then jane and i went for a walk at Long Bay

Hi everyone, here is some urban life from Auckland city.

Kezia and I (Jane) and Pearl went for a lovely walk/swim on the beach with Pearl and Belinda this morning. Then I met my friend Fleur and Kez trawled the mall and bought this cup cake holder, which she has had her eye on since before Christmas. Then she made some cakes to go in it.

It is a 3 day week-end. Then we all go back to school next week – boo!

i finished my jury service today.  being the foreman i had to get us all to consensus then deliver the final verdict in court.  exciting!

esther had a school choir practice and is starting to learn the pieces for her doctor who spectacular at the arena.  the girls and i watched the doctor who christmas special this evening too.

jane’s got her book club this evening.

jane and the girls did loads of stuff.  i did more court casing.
