church this morning following by supermarket shopping.

esther came back from her orchestra camp.  sounds like that went well.

anni and i went over to bethells beach this afternoon as everyone else was doing home work / school prep.

life is hard with a broken dishwasher.  it took me 45 minutes and 7 tea towels to wash up this evening!

this evening anni, kezia, jane and I went to the amazing Skin Of Fire show at Auckland Museum

it lasted an hour and was a firework, musical, theatrical thing which was totally excellent

we went with our the Irvines and the De Kwants so there was quite a crowd of us which was good

it rained in the middle of the performance which jane and i were secretly pleased about as we could utilise all our wet weather gear.  it was a welcome return of the military poncho for me and waterproof trousers for jane, plus an excellent roll of bin bags to make a quick blanket.

poor old anni was looking a bit worn out today after a busy week (actually, a busy few weeks)

and it turns out kez  hasn’t got strep throat so it’s just a cold (and presumably neither do i).  so that’s good.

Kezia had her first Three Little Wishes photo course today, so the two of us spent the day in town.  by the afternoon kezia had adopted my camera and lens, but that was ok.  she did well and commented that although she knew you could change lots of the settings she didn’t know what they did.  but now she does.  progress.  the next course is in a month’s time.

while kezia and i were learning, anni went round the auckland art museum with her friend then walked down by the waterfront.

meanwhile jane did housework/school prep  and esther was on her music camp

kezia and i were at home again today. 

the dishwasher stopped working and can’t be mended until tuesday so that’s a shame.

jane had a busy day at school

i drove esther and anni to school this morning as esther had loads of things she needed for her school camp.

after school anni went to her friend’s house and the beach

kezia, jane and i watched more british sewing then drove over to pick up anni

i’ve had bare feet all day.  fancy that.

kezia woke up with a really sore throat this morning so i whizzed in to work to pick up my laptop then took her to the doctors.  docs suggested she stays off school today and tomorrow.  so she stayed at home and did homework instead!

i worked from home.  everyone else had school

jane met up with her friend peggy who is moving to wellington so that’s sad

both esther and anni did things after school but i can’t remember what (they did tell me)

jane’s been out to a church ladies thing this evening

and a man came to mend the dishwasher

school, work, violin, big band, windsurfing/swimming, photo editing

work/school for all today.  lovely weather still.  i think rain is on the way tomorrow.

various musical things for the girls

kezia got her loan viola from school, so her transition from violin to viola can begin!

the volvo round the cup boat race boats are all being repaired etc at the moment so there’s lots to see at lunchtime / on the way to/from the bus

fact i learnt today were that all the boats are identical other than their paint job – so the race is about the crew rather than the boat technology

and also that the teams that do the mending of things like sails are independent of all the crews so again, it should be a level playing field.

anni went for a swim in the sea with a friend after school

we became citizens this evening having done the final part of the process which is to say the oath

in other news everyone had school.  both the girls had various musical things and anni was home alone this evening doing her homework while we were out citizenising.

church this morning for most of us – jane went to pick up kezia from her choir weekend and watched their end of camp concert.  jane took some video clips of the choir which are just uploading to youtube:

after church esther went for lunch with a friend while Anni and i went to Coatesville (daytime) market and then went to the mall to get her phone patched up

this afternoon everyone has been doing homework/preparation/photo editing and feeling tired!
