busy day for all as usual.  i was at my desk by 7am today catching up on stuff i met yesterday before zooming off to an AGM

then this evening kezia has been feeling poorly so i drove in to work to get my laptop so i can work from home tomorrow.  i picked up esther on the way back from her concert band practice

there have been some amazingly large storms passing by over the last few weeks.  our roof is leaking but now the bucket has a solid place to stand all i need to do is pop through the little hatch in to the roof space and keep moving the bucket so it’s in the drip zone as the water slowly trickles down the beam.  i one point i had the pool emptying water out as it was nearly overflowing while i was up in the loft catching water dripping!

kezia seems quite lively later in the evening so she may already be well enough to go to school.  either way, at least i don’t need to get up early in the morning!

my image of a fly on a gecko’s head appeared on the front cover of the tiritiri matangi supporter’s magazine today so that was nice!  it’s a charity so i let them use it for free.

i had the day off sick today with a headache and a bit of a fever, so i slept most of the day

esther had musical things until 6pm and went early to school with kezia.

the day was all lovely and sunshiny until 5.30pm when a massive thunderstorm came through.

queen’s birthday holiday today.  the weather started out lovely and jane, kez and pearl went for a walk on long bay and a coffee

after lunch we drove in to auckland to see Boy Choir at a little boutique cinema.  The sell out session was mostly people over 70 years olds.

the lady behind us kept shouting “i can’t hear anything”. which was ironic as neither could anyone else thanks to the amazingly loud bag of popcorn she kept shaking all the way through.

there was nearly a riot from everyone else half way through as various people shouted at her to be quiet. comedy gold.

we then had a quick walk down the water front before heading home for homework and on demand television

back to work/school tomorrow

it was really rainy this morning when i arrived at takapuna (the photo below is mine, the rest today are kezia’s)

kezia was an official photographer for a church baptism today as i was on my judging course.  she did excellently and her photos were really good.

i enjoyed doing the post-production work on them – not that i had to do much!

my judging course was good.  not sure if i want to apply to go through the mentoring process to be an actual judge though.  we’ll see.

jane has spent the rest of the day doing school work while kezia went to a chum’s house

another chilly morning.  jane was up early walking pearl then went to the gym

the rest of the day she went shopping with the girls and did various housing things

i went to day one of a two day workshop on learning to be a photo judge.  i came home with a big headache and confused brain

this evening kezia made some scotch eggs

and esther went out to a party

esther had a hair cut which involved some swirls.  looks lovely i’m sure you’ll agree!

i ignored this sign this morning and walked away from work when i got off the bus this morning to take some pictures down by a different bit of watefront.

at one point i had my feet in the entire ocean (well, just the soles of my shoes).  quite chilly at just 5 degrees today.  should warm up a bit for the long weekend, but the rain is coming back

and this evening we watched the film One Chance which was Jane’s choice and a good one too

turns out the chap in the picture below seated on the right hand side a few rows in front of me was 100 years old today. the band played him happy birthday!

Sorry about yesterday!  I got home at ten pm having been zooming around since five thirty and my brain gave up! .  hectic day at work followed by photo exhibition preparing followed by a very late running photo club meeting.

Girls and Jane also had busy days/evenings.  Kez had youth and esther had something musical after school until eight thirty.

Today has been busy too. Esther had tennis after school then we zooming in to town so she could go to an opera.  While she’s at that I’m next door in the civic theatre watching the  count basie orchestra big band who are excellent (it’s the interval).  All being well it should end just before the Opera and they’ll be no hanging about for either of us.

esther needed her trombone and violin at school today.  kezia took two violas yesterday.  it’s like an orchestra on tour every morning at the bus stop

i got a facebook message from the person who wrote and then lost this postcard.  i posted it off to Ireland (where it was addressed to).  and got a reply of thanks from the dad by email and the daughter via facebook.  made me chuckle.

nothing else to report.

It’s gone a bit cold out.  that’s because new zealand is being impacted by the biggest storm on Earth.

No snow in auckland but esther got hailed on and there’s been some impressive sideways storms through the day!

school for all.  kezia had orchestra and choir until 7.3pm this evening

jane had school with a couple of extra relieving lessons and took her car to the garage for a WOF and service

i had a busy day at work and picked up my photo prints on the way home.  they’ve now been glued down nicely (hopefully)

and it’s good to know the work roof is leaking as well as our own roof
