we drove from whitianga to Coromandel town via the 309 unmade road then back by the proper road. there’s lots of see down the 309.
the play park was esther’s favourite part of the entire holiday
we had a wooden boat race

on the way home we looked back towards auckland and could see rangitoto
and sky tower

jane was singing at church on sunday morning, so as soon as she’d finished we saddled up and drove the three hours to Whitianga
we arrived just as the sun was going down, making for a nice walk down the beach
and we had a walk down by the boaty bit
the sea was all flat which was nice
fish and chips for tea
and outside, the milkyway was looking mighty fine
esther spent the day doing homework
jane and kezia took pearl to her cousin’s house where she’ll stay until thursday
they also went to a cafe
i went to the camera shop in the morning and the Auckland Fitness Expo in the afternoon
you could have your photos taken with various famous body builders. i chose to take photos rather than appear in them
there were all sorts of displays of physical supremacy for both males and females. grappling, arm wrestling, zumba. the works
this evening we skyped my mum for her birthday at my brothers house. it was great to see my nephews as well
and this evening we watched some telly
my favourite at the fitness expo was the cookie monster
i went in to work later this morning so got to go over the bridge to work in the sunshine which was nice. chilly out though!
jane did waterblasting the patio and esther went in to town with a chum
kezia went round to her youth leader’s house this afternoon
both girls had a church youth event this evening so jane and i got some burger fuel and watched some telly.
happy birthday to esther. 16 today. old enough to drive. eeek
very cold but pretty morning on the way to work including this view outside my office
i had another hectic day running back and forth between a conference at Sky City (under Sky Tower) and my office.
the ladies went to Altura for a birthday breakfast
then esther went to a friend’s house (i think)
kezia and jane took pearl for a walk with her pearl’s cousin/aunt (i don’t keep a track of pearl’s family)
this evening jane went out for a music practice and the rest of us stayed in and watched 5 episodes of a comedy series
it looked like someone had left a head on a table at the conference
another really busy day at work today. just seems all my projects and deadlines are converging on this month when i have lots of days out of the office!
kezia did some playing with photo things during the day and we both went out this evening to photo club where the people from Three Little Wishes were running a workshop. those are the guys who run the courses which kezia has been on. kezia came away from this evening with lots of ideas so that’s good.
i’m not entirely sure what everyone else got up to. kezia found pearl asleep on jane and my bedroom floor, which she’s not allowed in so that’s cheeky
and when we got back from photo club jane was skyping binky (below)
wet and stormy day today as a big cold front sweeps up the country. i had another really busy day today which whizzed by
esther went in to town and went up the sky tower with her friend. they had a good time by the sounds of it
jane did various busying about
and kezia went to her youth leader’s house for the day and watched movies
one of my meetings today was on the 18th floor of a building. not quite as high as the sky tower, but it’ll do!

jane and the girls had a busy day at home and the malls and other places too
kez and i went to her last Three Little Wishes course which was outside and bit cold/damp today. Kezia has learnt loads from the four sessions though so time well spent!
jane and esther walked pearl on a beach then went for a long cycle ride round the estuary at Orewa then went looking round open homes to admire poshness
this evening we’ve all been round to our friend Biffy’s house for a meal and board games
jane was up early to go to the gym, then after some houseworks/tidyings we popped out to buy jane’s birthday present as there was a 4th July sale at the computer shop
this afternoon we all went in to auckland to go to some street markets. but unfortunately we were two weeks early as i’m still learning how to use a calendar
so instead we had a walk down the waterfront
jane and esther then went for a walk at long bay with pearl and kezia has been out to a 4th july party at church. esther and i watched The Italian Job this evening while jane played with her new tablet.
