work and school for all. kezia had a sectional rehearsal before school and a choir practice after. she goes to wellington tomorrow so there was lots of packing this evening
and someone has built a big house in the reception area at work
esther was on television this morning with her choir
they were on Praise Be, which is the NZ version of Songs of Praise
esther is on the front row at the far right
church this morning then a day of homework/chores
i spent a while playing with my flashes, trying to work out how they worked.
which i eventually did
i had to drop off esther at the cathedral in town this morning for her nine am rehearsal (via a farmer’s market because we were a bit early)
so i took the opportunity to go to the zoo where i bought an annual pass
i enjoyed going round on my own as i could sit for ages waiting for something (or nothing) to happen, like the flying Kea pictures below
while i was out jane (now feeling much better thanks for asking) and kezia went shopping for things for kezia’s trip
then this afternoon kezia had a friend to play
and jane went round to Janine’s for a make up party (or something)
this evening jane, kezia, kezia’s friend an i went back to the cathedral for esther’s choir’s 10th year anniversary concert where her normal choir was supplemented by various alumnis. they were excellent.
another showering day made for a wet walk to work. but a rain induced detour did make me stumble upon this knee height statue
school for all. Spark celebrated its one year anniversary (we changed our name from Telecom to Spark this time last year) so we all had cake and i was nominated official photographer for our CEO doing the cutting ceremony.
esther had a choir practice tonight 7pm-9.30pm and jane went to bed as she’s feeling a bit peeky. loads of people are off sick at our various works, so was just a matter of time!
i had a team day today, although it wasn’t actually with my team as the lawyers (who i sit with) had invited me to their day. it was really good actually and there weren’t too many slides like this one
the girls had their gala concert this evening. i went to the first session and jane went to the second with a quick meet up to hand over Kezia in McDonalds
here’s some pictures of kezia’s orchestra and one of her choirs. Kezia’s other choir and esther’s various choirs, band and orchestra are in the second session.
kezia lost her bus pass on the bus this morning so phoned me up at work. she eventually found it. it was up her sleeve. good times.
works, school for all. esther had a before school practice and an after school practice and i think her singing lesson too (i know they both have singing lessons but can’t tell you which days of the week they are!).
i had lots of meetings
it chucked it down with rain all day then stopped when i left the office which was nice. the sky on the picture is how it really looked – i’ve not done any editing to the image.
kezia is out at church youth group this evening
esther, kezia and i went to church this morning then we all went to look at an open home on the bit of land near our house for interest
at some point in the afternoon kezia gave the impression her homework was done so she could go and have her toes done at the mall. so i took her in.
then kezia and i went in to town to take some long exposure road shots for her photo competition. it was only when we got home that we found out how much homework etc Kezia still had to do …
jane spent the entire day doing school preparations
you can see kezia’s big shortlist of pictures here. we need to narrow it down to 6 to submit to the convenor: http://funkypancake.pixieset.com/kezia-mainstreet/
my birthday today. hoorah
kezia has to take some photos for the photo club, so we went out shooting down at the silo park today which was having its own birthday
these are some of the photo kezia took
and here are a few i managed to grab using my compact camera:
and this evening my mum paid for us all to go out for a lovely birthday meal to celebrate the recent birthdays of esther, jane and me (and my mum!). the restaurant we went to was across the road from the sea so we got to see the blue moon doing its reflecty thing too
a good birthday for me with lots of cards from lovely friends too!
it was pearl’s birthday today. kezia made her a cake last evening
i went for my friday morning hike round the streets on the way to work this morning which was good as it’s starting to get light
jane had a good day at school.
kezia is out this evening with her youth group and esther had a music rehearsal in auckland cathedral and then went off to another Korean night at yet another school. She’s become quite the korean night connoisseur. i shaved my beard off while jane was transporting esther from her school to Korea.
then this evening jane and i watched some telly
