self ageing sign. the rust eats away the pl of please as the gate itself ages and needs more love and attention when opened and closed.  lovely.

lluq ?  that could confuse a forward reader.  but obviously not too much otherwise they'd be blood on the glass frame.

it reminded me of that terrifying kids TV programme we were forced to watch at primary school.  It's been on my mind for years and here are some clips from youtube  The second video on that page freaks me out even now.

there's a whole group of late 30 year olds up and down this country who were traumatised as a result of that program.

i didn't want to use the revolving door as i was just walking down the street. i felt obliged though and ended up in an office, but only for a second, because i was quickly back out in the street.

last saturday we saw loads of doors leaning and lying

i looked through this window and all i could see were doors and doors and more doors. the same at the next window too.

here's a funny thing i spotted through whilst travelling on the central line last week. it's appeared on going underground and may make it in to the London Line (london's best free paper which costs a penny).

this door looked so real you could climb through it. but it was just a carving in an old tree. some little people weren't convinced and thought it was just locked.

if you want to cycle through this door you'll have to get off your bike first !

here is a place where james bond went down in a film (Die Another Day). it leads down to a deserted tube station in the film.

the door was ajar so i took a few photos. click on the first and last to see big versions.

it's another blocked doorway. this time with a little tree rather than flowers.

perhaps it's a tree('s) house

i know a lot of you like mysterious doors. my colleague harry pointed this out to me. i can see it from my desk out the window (why DO they put my desk out the window).

i've never seen anyone open it. perhaps i need a brick door webcam ?

ntoe the curving distortion of the bricks in this picture. hoorah for converging verticals (and horizontals). they used to be so uncool you know.

by request (via comments) here is a close up of the signage which only adds to the mystery:

DSC03447b.jpg

here is a burnt green door. it's well worn. i'm sure there's an interesting story behind it.

but i didn't knock ...
