in the quay of sea
there's a piano on the quay side in downtown auckland at the moment
i can't image something like this lasting as long in the UK, complete with plant pots and unchained stool. (although i remember seeing a few social pianos in london)
i walked past it the other day and there was a really dusty and dirty workman playing the most wonderful classical music. he'd taken his muddy boots off first though. good man

just desserts
i decided it was time to get fit so i've been using the stairs rather than the escalator at work. i also thought it would be good to catch up with warren for some healthy walking.
but instead we went to a local restaurant for coffees and desserts.
we had a great chat and great cakes and great hot drinks and nice free water. but there was a mysterious whispyness about warren that you can see on the top picture!

it's been quite chilly in new zealand. we even had snow which is the first time in 80 years for central auckland. but it is the middle of winter so what do you expect.
anyway, i went to a little stroll at lunch down to waterfront

the day the snow came
it snowed in auckland yesterday. not massive snow. and it didn't settle. but it was definately snow. and that's the first time in 80 years it's happened down town. it was well worth a wander to the window for some people.
