ANZAC day
Anzac day is a public holiday here which means you get the day off. but only if it falls on a week day. so the bank holiday is effectively 'lost'.
but it's still a hugely important day for New Zealanders and Australians and we were proud to go to a service where Esther was involved through her school.
catering seemed to date back to the times of the great wars with giant sponge cakes and sandwiches with their crusts removed

a big boat parked up in the dock as we zoomed by on a bus. note the two movie watchers on the opposite seats. once via an MP4 player type thing and one on his Macbook.

the strange mannequins of wellington
there was an art thing in Wellington a few weeks back. this made for some exciting mannequin window action which changed everyday. there were more mannequin murders throughout the week and the bodies were removed and drawn round like police investigations etc. excellent stuff
and this last one seemed to involve planting bottom seeds. by the end of the week there were loads of bums in there.
